Our Programs
Africentric programs centre culture as a strength and creativity as a pathway to growth.

Summer Camp
June - August
School’s out and we’ve got you. Summer days made for fun, creativity, and new friendships. Africentric Arts Summer Camp is a place where kids can try new things, make real friends, and have the kind of experiences they’ll still be talking about when September comes. Every day brings something different, creative sessions, outdoor play, cultural learning, team games, and activities that build confidence without feeling like a class. We keep it structured enough to feel safe and open enough to feel free.
Black History Month
February
A celebration of history, identity, and community pride. Africentric Arts Black History Month Program brings the community together each February through storytelling, performances, and cultural expression. Beginning with the official proclamation by the Mayor and City Council, the program highlights the voices, achievements, and contributions of Black Canadians in a way that is both meaningful and engaging. It is a space for reflection, celebration, and connection that extends beyond a single month.
African Drumming Outreach
Days and weekends
There is something that happens when the drum starts playing. Africentric Arts Drumming Outreach brings live African drumming experiences into schools, community groups, and events. Participants get hands on with traditional African drums, learn authentic rhythms, and feel what it means to connect through music. It is interactive, cultural, and designed to leave people with something they carry home with them.
Fashion and Talent Show
August and December
This is one of our favourite nights of the year. The Africentric Fashion and Talent Show is an event where culture, creativity, and identity take the spotlight. Designers, performers, and community members share their talent in a space that feels alive, expressive, and unforgettable. Every age, every background, everyone welcome. The kind of event that reminds you what community really looks like.
